very affordable and right on the beach. We love
it! It's right across the street from the Port
O' Call – a most unusual old restaurant.
We plan to eat dinner there later on, and there will
be a live band Saturday night if you want to go dancing.
Great food, cool place chock full of art and odd

Took me a few times
to get my searches right, so I took a screen
print of the settings that worked best for me:
Most of the
cottages rent from Saturday to Saturday. The
wedding is Sat., Aug. 25 so you would check in
that morning and attend the wedding that
afternoon. Spending the night before (somewhere
else) would help break up the drive (that's our
plan). Those in the wedding party
(attending the rehearsal Friday night) will
likely want a Sunday rental, checking in on
Sunday Aug. 19 (attending the wedding Sat. Aug.
25) and checking out Sunday morning, August 26.
In case it
matters: Pet friendly beaches are Kitty
Hawk, Nags Head, South Nags Head

Here are the
cottages I found on 1/6/12 with Sunday check-in
dates using the narrowed search parameters
displayed above. They are ordered from the
least expensive on up ($650-1295).... the little
'paw print' symbol under the cottage shows if
it's PET FRIENDLY.....:

From an exhaustive
search, here's what I found for Saturday
check-ins. All are either 'fronts beach road' or
'oceanfront', ...because we love seeing the surf
from the cottage, and this search is for our
future reference. These are in either Kill Devil
Hills, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head or South Nags Head
(Kill Devil Hills is only pet-friendly after
October or so) -- my favorite areas on OBX. I
did not include condos or townhouses or rentals
that cost more than $2000/wk.

is for the week of Aug. 25-Sept.1, 2012.
